Top Beer & Wine Festivals in Atlanta

Female friends toasting with beer

Though we’re always happy to help you find the perfect beer or wine for your private parties and get-togethers, we know that there’s something special about being part of a crowd of people all there to enjoy the same thing you love. Without further ado, here are some of the best beer and wine festivals in Atlanta.

Spring

Georgia Craft Brewers Fest

In just a few weeks, Atlantic Station will play host to the Georgia Craft Brewers Festival, celebrating Atlanta’s craft beer scene. It features 100s of beers from 50+ member breweries of the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild and dozens of special collaboration beers brewed specifically for the festival, making a ticket well worth the price even before you realize that beer tastings are included. Get your tickets ASAP - they cost more at the gate.

SweetWater 420

Calling SweetWater 420 a beer festival is a bit like calling Munich’s Oktoberfest a music festival, but it’s hard to write a blog about beer events in Atlanta without mentioning the biggest brewery-sponsored event in the Southeast. The SweetWater Experience Tent within SweetWater 420 features craft beer from – you guessed it – local Atlanta craft brewer SweetWater, plus presentations on a variety of beer-adjacent topics. Get all the details.

Summer

Gwinnett Beer Week

Gwinnett, just a short drive from downtown Atlanta, is home to plenty of breweries for that local craft beer scene. Gwinnett Beer Week allows you to explore these breweries and participate in a variety of events, from a chocolate and beer pairing at 6S Brewing to a Barks and Brews Event at Anderby Brewing or a full-on beer tour. Plan your trip to Gwinnett.

Wine and Culture Fest

The annual Wine and Culture Fest is dedicated to cultural experiences and consumer education through the black lens. With interactive sessions and immersive experiences, the festival helps consumers find their likes and dislikes while bringing the community together. Take a peek at the parties and learning opportunities.

Autumn

Atlanta Food & Wine Fest

Though the Food & Wine Festival is known for its focus on food, those of us looking to experience beer, wine, and cocktails are still in luck. The tasting tents offer a chance to pair your favorite drinks with amazing food, as do all the intimate brunches and dinners going on around the city. Find your can't-miss event.

Atlanta Oktoberfest

Don’t be fooled by the name – in keeping with tradition, the Atlanta Oktoberfest is held at the end of September. At this event you can find authentic German beers, wines, and food, plus some less-traditional spiked seltzers and craft cocktails. But forget about all that – they also have a dog parade, meaning this may be the best drinking event in all of Atlanta. Take a look at all the ridiculously fun competitions at Oktoberfest.

Winter

Mardi Gras on the Roof

In our completely unbiased opinion, The Roof at Ponce City Market is one of the coolest event venues, and its Mardi Gras party is one of the coolest parties they throw. We just closed the book on Mardi Gras 2023 so there’s no official date set yet for 2024, but check out their events calendar to see what else they’ve got going on – and don’t forget to stop by Tap on Ponce on your way home.

Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival

Advertising 60+ beers, 40+ bourbons, and lots of barbeque, the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival lived up to its name this past February. As a traveling event there’s no guarantee it’ll be back next year, but we’re hoping it will be. Keep an eye on their site for more details.

With all of these events and tastings making it easy to find a new favorite beer or wine, Tap on Ponce makes it easy to get you that new favorite at home in a growler or crowler, bottle or can.
